Late 2013 saw UK death thrashers make waves with the release of their second album At First Light but with things slowing down late last year the band have struck yet again out of the blue with a premiere of a brand new music video, The Thirst, taken from the album.
Featuring guest vocals from Richard Thomson of UK's tech metal giants Xerath, The Thirst was directed by Tom Bohan and shot in a warehouse deep in Manchester by a group of his film students. The final edit is brought to you by Jo Brook.
Vocalist and bass player Al Llewellyn comments, We previously worked with Tom on 'The Storm' and were really impressed with the results so he and his crew seemed the natural choice to work with on this new video!"
The album was recorded in Oulu, Finland and Montevideo, Uruguay and was mixed and mastered by Mika Pohjola at Soundmix Studios, Oulu.
The album has the special participation of Samuli T. Mäkelä in the track 6 and 9.
The CD edition is a limited number of only 100 copies and can be ordered online at Record Shop X
The digital copy can be purchased at Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon, Deezer, Google play and Spotify.
About the concept of the album :Between the Southern Cross & the Northern Star represents the deep connection with reality in its most natural way.Like it happens in the moment of the artistic creation, when a melody comes to our mind, and we can hear it without playing it yet; the inspiration sings the melodies to our mind... Is a reflection about the sometimes inpercptible reality, behind every act, and the analysis of the everyday and our own experiences. No matter what you see or believe to see, for example, even if the light in our eyes seems to have a single color, the reality speaks of something quite different. Reality exists with or without us. This album represents the need to move forward in understanding and free thought. Questioning everything and returning to the roots of philosophy, to develope in our personal journey toward deeper understanding.
In other words : The importance to keep searching for the hidden truth of all things and the denial of conformity.

"The press can look patronisingly at BM bands in places like the Middle East as being exotic or even funny, when, in some respects, they should be seen as the true heirs to the Scandinavians of two decades ago."
Those are the words The Guardian wrote one year ago, when they first discovered Al-Namrood, a three piece from Saudi Arabia which, no matter the dangers of their activity (if they are ever discovered they risk execution by stoning or beheading for apostasy), continue to work clandestinely on what they believe!
Now, in 2015, Al-Namrood are back with a new offering entitled "Diaji Al Joor", showing once more that they're in tune with the genuine spirit of black metal!
